Strategic Advocacy Training Specialist - Afghan National
DESCRIPTION
McColm & Company (McCO) is seeking applications from qualified personnel to serve as an Administration and Finance Specialist for our Accelerator Program for Women-focused Anti-Corruption CSOs activity in Afghanistan. The goal of the Accelerator Program for Women-focused Anti-Corruption CSOs activity is to further integrate gender and inclusion into the USAID Afghanistan’s Measure for Accountability and Transparency (AMANAT) project’s programming, a five-year contract awarded to MSI. McCO will provide targeted technical assistance to further develop and build the organizational capacity of Afghan civil society organizations (CSOs) that seek to reduce or prevent corruption in the delivery of essential government services in sectors where corruption has a distinct and disproportionate adverse impact on women. To achieve anti-corruption reforms in the provision of government services, such as in health, education, water and sanitation, driver’s licenses and building permits, AMANAT awards competitive grants to CSOs, media organizations, and business associations. The CSO grantees initiate dialogue with subnational government entities in many municipalities and provinces to advocate for eliminating pervasive corruption in the delivery of essential public services, conduct social audits and budget oversight, and raise public awareness through anti-corruption outreach campaigns. In collaboration with MSI and AMANAT, ten CSOs will be selected and invited to participate in the Accelerator Program which will provide intensive mentoring, coaching, and technical assistance to improve organizational capacity, training in strategic advocacy to improve the CSO’s overall programmatic effectiveness, and a capstone project in which the CSOs conduct trainings for their constituencies under the guidance and mentoring of the Accelerator staff. POSITION SUMMARY The Strategic Advocacy Training Specialist will be based in Kabul and will collaborate with the Home Office Senior Technical Advisor in the development of an anti-corruption and strategic advocacy training curriculum in accordance with their expertise on gender and anti-corruption topics, as well as effective training strategies. The Training Specialist will then deliver the curriculum in a Training of Trainers (ToT) event to representatives from 10 women-focused civil society organizations. Once completed, the Training Specialist will support the CSOs in developing organizational strategic advocacy plans and disseminating the curriculum through anti-corruption and advocacy workshops for women in their communities.
