North Africa Course Coordinator

McColm & Company seeks a subject matter expert instructor to design, deliver, and manage a 5 day course covering the culture, history, politics, economy, security, and other key elements and dynamics of the country/region.
The North Africa course focuses on the following countries: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. This course provides an advanced understanding of the distinctive colonial histories of the region, the rise of independence movements and parties, political history in the post-colonial era, the role of religious reform movements, political activism leading to the Arab uprisings of 2010 and 2011, and the security challenges that have since arisen. The seminar combines compelling lectures, advanced readings, open class discussions, stimulating meetings with relevant desk officers and policy makers, and other participatory activities such as the preparation of a paper and/or an oral presentation in class.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
The course is 5 days in length, beginning February 24, 2020 and ending February 28, 2020.
