McColm & Company seeks a subject matter expert instructor to design, deliver, and manage a 5 day course covering the culture, history, politics, economy, security, and other key elements and dynamics of the country/region.
This seminar focuses on Brazil and the Southern Cone region of South America (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay) and provides a wide-ranging, inter-disciplinary introduction to the region. The seminar is designed to prepare participants for working on issues related to the sub-region, whether on assignment in the sub-region or from elsewhere. The goal is to familiarize participants with the cultural, historical, social, and political issues within Brazil and the Southern Cone countries and to examine U.S. foreign policy objectives in the region. The seminar combines lectures, class discussions, field-trips, documentaries, and other participatory activities supported by readings.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
The course is 5 days in length, beginning February 24, 2020 and ending February 28, 2020.
